After all, the mom goes to the hospital and comes home with a new baby. I guess you need the stork and cabbage theories because home births are much more common outside the U.S.
My mom thought they ordered her little brother from the Sears Roebuck Catalogue. And once, when I was babysitting, I had a little girl ask me if her sister "came out of mom's butt!"

It's always tough to answer the questions of small children when you don't know what their parents have told them. My niece once asked me if they cut a hole in her mother's tummy to take her out. Thankfully, my niece was born by C-Section, and I could honestly say yes. My sister was very strict about what I could and couldn't say to her children, and since she lives across the country, I had no idea how much my sister had told my niece! But, not nearly as much fun. Although, if he finds women physically repulsive, he might disagree. His loss.
It would be nice for him to explain how people did it before such technology came about. I just find the sign incredibly ignorant.

From his part of the world, it's cabbages.
When I was little there was a cartoon called Life with Louie about a guy's childhood. His parents didn't want to tell him the truth about where babies come from, and so suddenly he put it all together and told his class that the storks provided bombing runs for the marines to storm the beaches of the cabbage patch to rescue the babies from their leafy grasp. I told her mom about it, and she said that if it came up again, I should just say yes, since it's pretty close to right, but without graphic detail. lol.
