I Found Jesus At Work Tonight

1. HCF was fortunate enough to recognize the pyx, rescue a potentially consecrated Host and to pay it adoration by keeping vigil with a small candle while it is in her custody.

2. She plans to return the pyx and Host to the custody of a parish as soon as humanly possible.

3. Once in custody of a priest, I am sure that he will accord the Host the due honor accorded to the Sacrament as a Catholic and as a minister of the Church, by whose proclamations he operates.

Why can't we just have a thread that says YAY Jesus got rescued from the drawer at the mall and leave it at that? And thank you to HCF for treating Jesus like an honored guest in her home.

This is not something we joke about.

2 things.

first... I lol'ed at the above... We don't know 100% for sure it's consecrated. In all honesty, hopefully it isn't. That and... with the thread about the anglican pastor giving a wafer to a dog during the anglican service... I thought it was amusing. The bright side would be, if it was a contaimnated or poisoned host, it'd be a dog dying not a priest.

second... it is possible that the priest who receives the pyx from HCF has good reason to believe that the host is actually poisoned for the purpose of making one very ill or even kill them. I had a detailed outline of a theory but I deleted it in case someone actually found this post from google and used my theory in action... basically someone could be trying to kill a priest by getting the priest to consume this host, and if the parish priest believes that to be a possibility (death threats have come into the diocese), it would make sense to dispose of rather than consume the host.

Personally: I'm in favor of consuming.

THANK YOU!

Some folks around here need to put their personal feelings aside and stop looking for an argument.

I would argue with anyone who says that a person would be justified in disposing of a Host.

#1 Thank-you. Of course, PETA will be after you for saying that the life of a priest is worth more than the life of a dog.

#2 In your plot, would the end result mean that the priest died of consumption?

Are you writing a mystery book? One of my many Catholic mystery books has a plot where a priest dies from drinking from the chalice, but because of the rules regarding proper and reverent treatment of the blood of Christ, the police are not allowed to remove the chalice from the altar, or do a poison check, because the wine has been consecrated and so is literally the blood of Christ. The master detective solves it. The archbishop's secretary (a priest) was the one who did it. He goes insane, thus saving the embarassment of a trial.

I never said a person. I said a priest.

Then bicker with Pope St Pius V because you disagree with him.
