Look, even if the story was embellished, the "moral" of the story is the same. Mother Angelica has such great love for the Holy Eucharist that she would do anything to protect and respect Him, even if that means consuming Him after having been covered by dirt for three years. We should all have that kind of love for Him.
Even 3 months 3 weeks or 3 days would still make the story relevant...

I'm not questioning Mother Angelica's love for the Eucharist.

This does give a bit more perspective to the, "Lord when did we see you hungry, thirsty, naked or in prison?" story. HCF truly saw our Lord in distress and helped Him. Praise God.

God bless-

Ok well let's not call it an urban myth then shall we? Let's call it a third hand story that occurred over 20 years ago that has probably been embellished over the years.

Why is it so important to you that Z should doubt the testimony of her friends in the convent? You want to super, great, fine but really why not just drop it.

That would be a lot easier for him to do if people stopped bringing it up.

:idontknow: i thought she brought up the story to show how they disposed of the Eucharist, though it was "contaminated".

But they did not dispose of the Eucharist. Mother Angelica and the priest consumed the Hosts. Their great love of the Eucharist allowed them to ignore the dirt.

Where did I say she should doubt it?

Honestly Knight I wish you wouldn't read more into my posts then are there. It gets tiresome to hear your accusations and to correct you constantly

LOL, by calling it an "urban myth" - although you did later correct yourself by calling it an "embellishment".

The terminology does get confusing. Like "contaminated".

HCF-- I am really delighted that this matter is resolved. Since there is really nothing more to discuss in this thread, I'm going to close it before it desolves into bickering.
