Ziggamafu
The year, dear friends, is 2030. Advancements in [yada yada yada] have made upgrading the human body an easy and affordable process. For example, a simple implant into the brain allows much faster problem solving. A simple replacement of the eyes allows for visual perception clearer than an eagle's, and the simultaneous perception and processing of every spectrum of light. Etc. Where is the line drawn between body modification and body mutilation when considering upgrades in ability, rather than mere decoration? For example, a man loses his arm and gains a new one that is both virtually indestructible and inhumanly strong / agile. It even has cool stuff like a butane lighter in the index finger and an espresso dispenser in the pinky. Whatever you want. What room does the healthy guy have to compete with the advantages of the guy with the robot arm? All over the world, in this hypothetical universe, people are upgrading their brains and bodies. The upgrades look perfectly "natural". What says the Church?
let_go_let_God
The purpose of medical advancements is to maintain a healthy lifestyle and allow for a person to function as normally as possible. Enhancements such as these do not provide normal functionality. They are enhancements that God had not designed for the human body. God bless- LGLG
