Lounge Daddy
Now, at what point do we collectively say enough? I posted the article, along with some venting, at my blog. This doesn't make me feel more secure. How about you? ThePenciledOne
Doesn't make me feel safer, in fact it makes me worried that 6 and 7 year olds are being violated like this in which only their parents should see them as such. *shakes head* Disgusting. CatherineM
They will have pedophiles lining up to go to work. Actually, they have had trouble with people hiding things on kids for years. Ask any store detective, and they will tell you how much shop lifted stuff ends up in baby carriages.

MissScripture
And I will be adding that to the list of why I never want to fly if I have small (younger than 16) children...
Lounge Daddy
I'll never go fly myself, if I can help it. I'll never fly with children. The U.S. Government now has a monopoly on domestic mail delivery, violence, and child porn.

Nihil Obstat
So does anyone care to place bets regarding how long it will take until scanned images are stored in a central database for X number of years, for security purposes?

homeschoolmom
Wait a second... Now, I'm not a fan of invading privacy. I don't like the idea of me or my family members submitting to a full body scan to defend our innocence... But... have you seen those scans? I can't imagine that anyone would find them titillating. I think they are creepy and ghostly. I hardly think they would be a satisfying substitute for child porn.

1 - I think it's very revealing. That little lead strip on this pic is all that is covering the man's genitals. And I doubt that do that for every passenger. (And speaking of lead -- I doubt these things are safe. I mean, if you go to the dentist, they throw a huge apron over you. And that's only for your teeth.) 2 - Speaking of revealing, there is another thread here about modest swim ware. This shows far, far more than what's visible on the most modest bathing suit. 3 - This is done without parental consent. 4 - This, and everything else, is being done to fight quote-terrorism-unquote. But, beware, the Federal Government's definition terrorist is different than yours or mine. (Hint: they don't mean only Muslims.) 5 - Look how far this went in less than a decade. We went from a place where pat-downs were invasive, and rare, to men with guns doing strip-scans of our children. And you know it will keep getting more invasive, more detailed, and more frequent ... until we have had enough. It's not ok just because the man with the gun also has a badge. That little social cue of a badge doesn't make it ok. And in face, it becomes an excuse for abuse of power -- which is what is happening in this country. Liberty in exchange for security leaves We The People with neither.
Yes, I've read that too... I have better reasons to dislike this-- invasion of privacy and over-exposure of rays are two of them. Fear that my ghostly naked self (or my children) will be splashed all over the internet is not really one of them.
