You would have the consequence of murder be murder? Or did you mean something else?

If you were a member of congress and were to draw up a piece of legislation to make abortion illegal, what would
you have for a penalty, for those who violate the law?

This includes both the mother and the people who provided the abortion.

Okay, penalty. Sorry, I used the wrong word. What I was trying to ask was what are you saying? That the penalty for abortion should be murder, or should it be the same as murder or what?

i really have no idea.

but then, i have no idea of the penalty of numerous crimes like theft, grand theft, mayhem, reckless endangerment, slander, libel, and just about every other crime....

OK, so no one answered the question, which is the usual response from those who demand that abortion should be illegal.

Laws are meaningless if there are no penalties for violating them.

Pretty much the way Bishop Tobin was unable to answer, when asked the same question by Chris Matthews.

We demand that legislators outlaw abortion, but have no answer on how they should make such a law enforceable.

We already have penalties.

The wages of sin is death.

We want to change secular law to reflect the moral law. You want to change the moral law to reflect trendy secular tendencies.

If you want to change the secular law to reflect moral law, then you have to have penalties for those who break the law,
otherwise its meaningless.

I have no desire to change moral law, how'd you come up with that?

The topic of this thread is whether we should keep abortion legal or not.
