I hear that boxing gloves in fact make fighting even more dangerous than fighting without them. Protects the hand, adds weight to it, and allows you to sock an opponent with full force in the face.

Fighting without gloves does make it more likely to get cuts and bruises on your hands, but then gloveless fighters tend to avoid the head, seeing how that is one of the hardest parts of the body. You also cannot make those huge gashes and bruises that you can make with boxing gloves.

Using the same analogy, I believe it would in fact be better to resurrect the back-alley. Carry on.

lol Yeah, the Back Alley didn't so much work that way. If it were back, though, more threads would get moved there so the Debate Table remained a place with more productive dialogues and less circular bickering and ugliness.
