New Host For Phatmass

Well, keeping with the tradition of this website, just letting you all know exactly what's going on behind-the-scenes with phatmass...

I'm seriously considering this company as my new host:
http://www.hostrocket.com/

And the plan phatmass will require:
http://hostrocket.com/products/executive.htm

Why HostRocket?
1. They do not allow any type of adult content on their servers
2. They are big and reliable

If anyone has any objections, speak now or forever hold your peace. I anticipate that this will bring a nice improvement in performance (no more down time or slow loading phorum). It will also allow me to move on with bigger and better plans (I've been holding off on a lot of things with the anticipation of switching hosts).

The negative side is that it'll be pretty expensive. At least about $20/month more than what I'm paying now (nothing). I think it'll be worth it though.

Thanks to every one of you who call yourself a phatmasser. Without you, this site would be nothing.

God bless.

Are you going to set up some sort of paypal donation type thing so those of us who want can help defray costs?

God Conquers

I know nothing about websites, I just know this one is the best, and that you Shepherd it valiantly, so whatever you do will be awesome!

Will this re-set the phorum again?

No. It may shut it down for about 2-3 days during the move, but that should be it.

Yes. I plan on doing that.

If you set up a paypal thing like that I might be able to talk my dad into letting me give some $. If he won't I know his password and CC number.... jk.

Yes I would be willing to give some money to off set the cost of PhatMass. It means too much to me.

If its only $20 a month I'm sure you will be able to get the support easily. I know we (my husband and I) would be more than willing to sponsor at least one month out of the year.

Ditto. If I didn't go on a month by month basis I would be willing to pay for 1 full month out of the year, and then other smaller monthly donations if I can afford it.

Hey Dust, have you checked out PowWeb? I personally think this is a really good service. I know a couple people who use it, and they say that it is very good. Check it out.

Yes. It was actually between them and HostRocket. I went with HostRocket because Powweb doesn't have a big enough package (phatmass requires a lot of space and bandwidth), and also because the feedback received from customers (webhostingtalk.com is a great source).
