enitharmon
I'm just curious. Who of you use a Missal regularly?
aalpha1989
I usually use the 9K38 Igla. The directions are a little hard to understand, but c'est la vie.
aalpha1989
Really I usually use the 1962 Baronius Missal.
Hilde
No I don't really have one. I'm usually in the choir so I pay more attention to the psalm book or whatever.
jeffpugh
I use a missal for some parts. I'm in the choir too, so I usually am reading chant at that point. I use a '61 missal for the '62 mass. No difference, really (well, there is. Someone will give the lowdown). Anywho, it's a great tool to keep one focused. Also use it to meditate a bit on the readings before the liturgy. CatherineM
I use the "Living with Christ" daily missal from Novalis. Large print edition.
Bennn
I use a little missal of 1958, which was a gift from a friend who is an old monk and very dear to me. +Pax Domini, Ben
Marie-Therese
I used to use Magnificat until my subscription ran out. I used it more just to follow along with the readings on Sunday, to read the daily readings, and for the reflections and meditations. Now I don't really use one, unless I go during the week and I use the missal for the entrance antiphon, which we recite at my parish in lieu of an entrance hymn on weekdays. Tony
I use the ones in the pews, the "Heritage missal"
Luigi
I don't use a missal at all unless I can't make out what the lector is saying - then I'll pick up the one in the pew and read along. And for the psalm, too, if the response verse is long or complicted - and if they use the verse in the missal. Otherwise, I don't use one.
zunshynn
I use the 1962 Roman Catholic Daily Missal by Angelus Press and I LOVE it! I've used the Baronius Press Missal before too, but I like the Angelus Press one much, much better. I didn't use a missal for a long time, and wasn't really interested in using one because I loved just watching the mass and praying that way, but as I've become more familiar with the extraordinary form, I've found that I'm much more engaged when I both watch and read along. I often even use it now at Novus Ordo masses when I go to one, and it makes an awesome prayerbook. Plus, I pray the office most of the time with an old antiphonale Romano-Seraphicum, which is all in Latin, and on feast days and Sundays I can use my missal to go back and find a good translation of the antiphons and things for Vespers. Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend the Angelus Missal. It's fantastic! Edited July 2, 2010 by zunshynn

I also find that the book fits into my hand better.
jeffpugh
I tote me EF missal to NOs too. I've scribbled down the "new" responses in Latin (like the shortened confiteor) so I can pray along in Latin. Plus there are a few pre-mass prayers I like to dig into.
