JP2Iloveyou
If you are going to read anything by Fr. Greeley, I would urge EXTREME caution. He is a noted dissenter of the Holy Father, the Magisterium, and most of what the Church teaches. As a matter of fact, unless you are quite strong in your faith and understand it fully, I would not even open one of his books up. You are only asking to be led astray. kdewolf2
Andrew Greeley has his own website, just so you know. In my personal opinion, he has a great sense of cultural Catholicism, so you can learn from him there, but his theology is deplorable.

His theolgoy might be iff but he does report what is the Catholic Culture in American (AND the furture looks good by his numbers!) Rev, you forgot "The Catholic Myth" A study of American Catholics and their beliefs and Beahaviors. Which was good. At least as much as I read. friarMatt
no matter what his politics and ecclesiology (leftist...yuck). I always take heed at the words of St. Francis when he was asked what he would do if he saw a priest who was living a scandelize life, wasn;t prayerful, had a woman on the side. Francis reply is I would kneel before him and beg to receive the Holy Eucharist which he consecrated with his hands. He is still a priest and he still does perform the greatest of miracles at every mass he offers. He still acts in persona Christi, just a though, he is probably in need of more prayers then criticism. in Christ and Mary, fr. Iacobus
I like his numbers though. The Catholic Church in America is on Rocky Ground. The Rock is made of Peter and will grow. He says that Americans Catholics are not becoming not Catholic any more than they were before and the youth will contuine to take a leave of absence but return when they start families. I won't argue with that. He also said that the Catholic Church will still be different from other "churchs."
