I'm an oblate candidate and will make my oblation in the fall. Discerning a vocation with the same community.

A wise old nun used to say, You can't claim to be a Benedictine until just after your last gasp (i.e., it's final perseverance that counts). Puts us all on an even footing, doesn't it?

I still love the spirituality, though. It's probably something I will carry with me forever.

I think it counts Benn.

I've been a postulant oblate now for 5 years and due to circumstances, I haven't got there yet to make the oblation or live in, so in my eyes it counts.
