I hope this does better.
They ruined them. And I'm not being one of those "Oh, it's not true to the book, it's lame..." folks here. The allegory was corrupted so much that the theme and message hardly resembled what C.S. Lewis wrote. It's almost on the same level as making a movie about a Hindu or Buddhist legend and rewriting it so that it promotes monotheism. If this continues under 20th Century Fox, I challenge all Christians to boycott the (allegedly) conservative Fox News Corp.

tinytherese
I really like BBC's version of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. The story is very accurate to the book (for the most part at least.) They also did Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and The Silver Chair.
Yeah, what with the talking mice and wardrobe gateways to alternate realities. Way too everyday, for me.
elizabeth09
I really like the books. I even watch the two movies that are out. I watched the first one in theater. I may watch this one in theater, but really do not know at this point because it will be close to Christmas.
sarcasmguy126
I certainly hope they include Eustace's diary in the movie....glad to see the Dufflepuds are in there!
lookingforfaith
I am SO excited for it! It's mine and my father's favorite out of all seven books, so we are excited for the movie!!!
MithLuin
The BBC version is painful in other ways, though, TT. The White Witch's idea of 'acting' is to scream all her lines (or just scream, actually). Whole segments look like they just went out in the woods and shot them (very, very low budget). I much preferred their versions of Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Silver Chair - better performances, and better all-around. That being said, they were of course much more faithful to the books on most points. And I saw them long before I read the books, so 'Narnia' in my mind evokes their intro music The Opening - They're all on YouTube, for the interested. I feel your pain, LC. This is my sister's novice year, so I'll have to wait until *much* later to see it with her. SaintOfVirtue
Hard to believe they ruined the storyline before the preview was even finished.
littleflower~
I wonder how much the movie will deviate from the book! the trailer does look good though.

MithLuin
Oh, that's not fair. All that has happened is that rather than Edmund, Lucy and Eustace being dumped into Narnia for unknown reasons, there is a line about the 'fate of Narnia.' The line is spoken by Ramandu's daughter, and while it is my least favorite part of the trailer, I will not say it 'ruins' the storyline. The storyline is still that Caspian is trying to find the missing lords and that Reepicheep is going to sail to the uttermost West. It's still about facing temptations and exploring the unknown. Eustace is still a little brat (I think; we've seen very little of him so far.) The second teaser trailer is out now. It's mostly the same footage from the first one, with some different voice-overs. It contains the line 'Be strong! Think of the lost souls we're here to save. Think of Aslan. Think of Narnia.' I have to imagine that has something to do with facing the nightmares of the island 'where dreams come true,' but regardless, it's an encouraging excerpt, don't you think? sarcasmguy126
The "Prince Caspian" movie I found to be much better than the "LWW" movie, but this one should be great because of so many things that made the book (which I haven't read in a very long time) great! And they don't even need any big battle scenes (looks like there might be one or two that the writers put in this one, but it would have been fine without them).
