Christmas In July

For everyone who has a 'winter' season Christmas, do you feel drawn to Christmas during the warm summer months? I always do! I guess the 'Christmas in July' saying is true for me. When the holidays actually arrive I am usually too busy helping people and working on exams to feel super 'Christmas-y'.

Around June and July I always want to listen to Christmas music, read Christian poetry and theological material and pray the rosary. I think I am more excited about the beauty of Christmas (theological part, nature itself at that time, family gatherings) than during the actual month of December! I have so much more time during the summer to relax and think about the spiritual implications and beauties of Christmas.

Does anyone else get this feeling? Or the opposite scenario (thinking of Christmas during the coldest time of the year), for people who have a 'summer' Christmas?

No, I can't say that I have that feeling. I live in Alabama in a subtropical climate and the last thing on my mind during the nuclear heat is Christmas. I definitely have a cold weather, Norman Rockwell, cocoa and cider feeling about Christmas.

I should start thinking about what to get people! I like to get two people two gifts each; finding those four presents is tough! =)
I always fall back on cookies and pie LOL

Can't say that I have that feeling. Sounds pretty strange to me because the relation between winter/cold and Christmas is so deeply embedded in my mind.

I agree so much!

I do love a 'white Christmas' more than anything =) LOL I just don't know why I turn on the Christmas music
during summer. I must miss Christmas or something! I like the big focus on a Christian holiday/event and how there is
lots of mentions of religious matters. And I like the magazine articles on decorating and cooking too =)

There has to be a Grinch in every crowd, and I'm it. I hate Christmas. I like the religious part but do my best to ignore all the rest. I could go into the reasons why I feel this way, but they're boring.
