laetitia crucis
Prayers for a speedy recovery! P.S. -- I've known of two other people to have their gallbladders removed within the past week.... I thought that was kind of odd. I had mine taken out about four years ago. (Blessed be God! The relief!)

CatherineM
I had mine out in 1981. Had the old, rip you open surgery, where you had to stay in the hospital for a week. Make sure you add beets, pineapple, and artichokes to your diet. They help balance bile. Since you no longer have a place for the liver to store extra bile, it will get dumped into your small intestine, and that will lead to quick trips to the bathroom. I found myself almost lactose intolerant for years after. It's normal, and will pass in a year or two when your body adjusts.

Sojourner
I had trouble with mine when I was pregnant and thought I might have to have it out, but it cleared up by the end of the pregnancy. Gallbladder attacks are painful ... glad your surgery went well.
