Prayers for a speedy recovery! :sign:

P.S. -- I've known of two other people to have their gallbladders removed within the past week.... I thought that was kind of odd. I had mine taken out about four years ago. (Blessed be God! The relief!)

You are young to be going though that! Praying your recovery will be problem-free and complete. God bless and keep you!

I had mine out in 1981. Had the old, rip you open surgery, where you had to stay in the hospital for a week. Make sure you add beets, pineapple, and artichokes to your diet. They help balance bile. Since you no longer have a place for the liver to store extra bile, it will get dumped into your small intestine, and that will lead to quick trips to the bathroom. I found myself almost lactose intolerant for years after. It's normal, and will pass in a year or two when your body adjusts.

My 85 year old grandmother might need to have her gallbladder removed, she has to have more testing next week.

I had trouble with mine when I was pregnant and thought I might have to have it out, but it cleared up by the end of the pregnancy. Gallbladder attacks are painful ... glad your surgery went well. :)

Oh, that's funny! My godmother just had hers removed not too long ago.

You're in my prayers. You and all the other people who seem to be having gall bladder problems all at the same time.

you have been open with us about your Lent and Eastertide of stresses, and gall bladders definitely pick up on stress. Hang in there.

thank you, everyone. there was a stone blocking the neck of the duct and after they took it out, they discovered several stones inside of it.

i am still pretty sore, but am improving. over my parents' right now for part of the recovery. :)
