Mary Veronica
Have you already read Secret of Mary by St. Louis de Montfort? It's a summary of the True Devotion to Mary (it can seriously be read in one-sitting). Our Mother Mary is soo beautiful *tear*

tinytherese
I haven't gotten to it yet, but I know that another phatmasser recommended this book which is a commentary on The Song of Songs that a woman in discernment supposedly finds very inspiring. http://www.ignatius.com/Products/COL-P/the-cantata-of-love.aspx a song to listen to as a future bride of Christ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CUGTIWCFyo&feature=PlayList&p=01E1A44C1C3D6A73&playnext_from=PL&index=

I love reading the Song of Songs...and the youtube video is a song I listen to every day! so breathtakingly beautiful! I heard it a few weeks back and the part that says:
Love of my life Look deep in my eyes There you will find what you need Give me your life Lust and the lies The past you're afraid I might see You've been running away from me
It fits my to a T...I had been running away from Him for a very long time...until one day my 6 year old nephew looked at me and say Titi (Spanish for aunt) did you know God Forgives everyone...he said I learned that Sunday at church...and it was because of those words that I stopped running and open the door to Him again!
Wow that's beautiful. A book I'd suggest, which is pretty much a unanimous favorite around VS, is A Right to be Merry by Mother Mary Francis. It could be a discernment book in a way because it might help to discern a cloistered vocation At any rate it's simply a good read.

It definitely helped me in my discernment of a possible cloistered vocation -- of which I discerned that I am not called to be cloistered.

Cherie
"True Spouse of Jesus Christ" by St. Alphonsus Liguori (also called, "The Nun Sanctified by the Virtues of her State in Life") Can be ordered here for $15: http://www.marianland.com/saints011.html HIGHLY highly recommended -- we actually read this in the novitiate as part of our formation Edited June 15, 2010 by CherieMadame
