CatherineM
I'm going to be shopping soon too. Came home to a flooded house today. First time since Katrina that I've had the pleasure of pulling up carpet. I've been wanting to get rid of that carpet. Timing smells of elderberries though. IgnatiusofLoyola
I enjoy shopping on the Internet, but I don't like going to stores. And, I REALLY don't like buying big, expensive things like appliances. And, replacing carpet is awful. I feel bad for you, Catherine M. Replacing carpet means going to a store. The last time I replaced my carpet, I went to what I knew was the best carpet store around in terms of price and value. The store was in a very affluent area, and to get to the back of the store where they had the carpet I could afford, I had to walk by lots of gorgeous, incredibly expensive carpet. So, here I am, in this store with all this classy, upscale carpet, and I, true sophisticate that I am, said to the salesman, "What's the best carpet for cleaning up stains from cat barf?" He didn't bat an eye. He led me to the back of the store, and said, "This is the carpet I got for my daughter who has two toddlers who spill things all the time." It was a good price, the installers were great, but moving all the furniture, etc was a real pain. It's times like that that I really wish I had a husband. (Not really, I'm pretty much the only reprobate in Vocation Station--makes for an interesting contrast.)
