My mom deleted the Oprah recording that I set. She said it was by accident. Still. :annoyed:

Heh. Actually, someone at work had apparently mentioned the show to her and asked if I was going to watch it (she's gone and told everyone about my discernment). She said she didn't know but that she wasn't going to tell me about it!

Well, at least she recognizes that this isn't a stage or something. I still wish I could've watched it anywho.

Are they gone from youtube? The videos? I downloaded them from youtube anyways. They're mine forever!

You could make DVDs of it and sell them for money!!! Muhahahahahaha!!!!

Or you could give them to the DSMMEs as vocational promo material.

Its a good thing JT is entering the convent then, it sounds like God is keeping her away from a life of bootlegging pirated DVDs! :hehe:

Well, it's more of copyright issues than anything, but they would have to pay a bit to use any of that footage.

And perhaps most importantly for us VSers:

Love it.

P.S. -- This morning, I just found out that my Visa has been APPROVED and will be arriving TODAY (though I'm out of town for the week, someone will be home to sign for it)!!!

I'm shocked. Like this kind of shocked:

P.S.S. -- And yesterday, I went on The Great Nun Shoe Hunt[sup]TM[/sup]. The mission: find two pairs of good "sensible, black, lace-up shoes" and a pair of Wellies.

Really, by the end of the day, I was convinced that this was indeed Mission Impossible. I had gone to several stores -- JCPenney's, Rack Room Shoes, Kohl's, TJMaxx, Belk, Wal-Mart -- no luck. Seriously, some of these stores didn't have ANY "black lace-up" shoes. I was astounded.

(Then I thought, "Hmmmm.... I wonder how many postulants there are each year looking for the SAME things I'm looking for?? Wouldn't it be nice if there was a specific "NUN STORE" we could all shop from...???")

Finally, I decided to give one (normally SUPER-expensive) store a try. Obviously, this is a store I tend to avoid because I don't function so well spending mass amounts of money. This place was my "last resort" -- I'd been praying to St. Anthony ALL day for help. So, I went in and looked through the shoes -- THEY HAD THE SHOES I NEEDED! However, I found them to be a tad too expensive for my price range. So, feeling somewhat disheartened, I went down the clearance aisle "just for fun".

Lo, and behold! What did mine eyes see??

A pair of black lace-up SAS shoes in MY SIZE and in a WIDE width! -- AND 50% OFF!!! At that very moment, I felt as though the clouds opened up, as rays of sunshine spewed across me, and the angels all sang, "AHHHHH-LLEL-LUIA!!!!!!" I couldn't believe. I'm still in shock.

And they totally look like "nun" shoes. -- At first, I thought they were hideous, but then I tried them on and pictured them with a habit and knew without a doubt that They Were PERFECT. (And oh so comfy!!!)

So, I bought two pairs. (The ONLY two pairs they had in that size, by the way. :muffin: ) I could reconcile spending that amount of money for TWO pairs of gloriously comfortable shoes.

Oh, and also through the entire day, I think I tried on a gazillion pairs of Wellies/rain boots/galoshes. (I now know with utmost certainty that my calves are simply too chunky. ) Yet, "Wellingtons" were on The List. I had to find them. Whilst at the same fortunate shoe store, I spotted my beloved Chacos that I wanted to show my friends. As one of my friends headed over, she gasped. She stopped. Bent down to look at some shoes. And gasped again. Then she brought them over.

THEY WERE WELLIIIIIIIES!!! (And they FIT!!!!)

I think I almost cried. Seriously.

This is what they look like:

Granted, I'm not all that fond of pink, but given the previous day's flock of uncanny and unexpectedly "pink bridesmaids", I took this as a SIGN from God. Hahahaha!!

So. Now I have my "nun shoes".

I am SO happy and relieved!!!

(I'll post pictures of the "sensible black lace-up shoes" in the near future... )

For now, I have tissues stuffed up my nose and I'm sipping hot lemon and honey tea. Oy. God is so very good! :cry4:

So wonderful! I'm glad your visa came in!:nun2: And about the shoes: finding sensible shoes is sooooo hard. Finding uniform shoes for a picky Catholic school: even worse. Doesn't God work in mysterious ways??

As for the "Nun Store"--it's a great idea. Any takers?:anyone:

Because your Visa came in, I will tolerate your "whirling dervish nun" Very cool. The Visa, not the nun. (I have no emos, so just assume emos, where they would normally be.)

As for wellies and nun shoes, why didn't you ask ME? LLBean usually has REAL wellies, the green kind like the Queen wears. Not those pink poser wellies. What kind of wellies are those? You are very gullible. Those are NOT wellies.

And, last year, Lands' End had wellies, too. Not sure if they will have them this year. Well, when your new Sisters get over their hilarity at your "poser pink" wellies, I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a store in your new village that sells wellies. The REAL kind. Everyone in England wears wellies. Even Prince William's girlfriend wears them.

As for sensible nun-type shoes. I know a couple of Web sites that would be sure to have them.

I hate shoes. And, I hate shoe shopping. I can't remember the last time I was in a mall. Web shopping is awesome.

I have very few talents, but finding obscure things on the Web is one of them. But, do they ask ME? Noooooooo. <Grumble Grumble>
