IgnatiusofLoyola
This is only randomly related to vocations, but since this is a random thread...... Has anyone ever ordered soaps or lotions or lip balm from the Summit Dominicans? Some of their soaps are on sale right now, so I bought a few bars. I should have asked all of you first if the soaps were good, but I figured it was a worthy cause.

I say this because if memory serves me correctly, she posted a thread (or in a thread) in Open Mic about the Summit Dominicans' monastery shop. That's how I heard about their shop. From what I remember she had purchased from them before and loved their products. (If I am incorrect -- someone, please correct me! ) I've been tempted to order their lip balm. However, I have at least three other lip balms (like Burt's Bees ) in my satchel as we speak.

It was interesting, today I was on an Anglican Web site and they had an advertisement for the Summit Dominican soaps. (I saw this AFTER I placed my order.) I thought that was very ecumenical of the Web site. But, if it's a good product, and is made by holy women, why not?
I've never posted on an Anglican Web site. Did my post come across as rude? If it did, I apologize. I wouldn't have mentioned it except that I was surprised to see an ad for Dominican nun soaps on an Anglican site--I thought it was nice. But, yes, if I posted frequently on an Anglican Web site, I'd feel very free to say "Today I was on a Catholic Web site and I saw an advertisement for soap made by Anglican nuns......" Maybe my experience isn't typical, but I've never heard a lot of anti-Catholic sentiment among Anglicans/Episcopalians. I know it must exist somewhere, but I've never experienced it. (I think there is more anti-Catholic sentiment in the UK.) Besides, one Anglo-Catholic Web site I read had an article written by former Anglo-Catholic priest who joined the Roman Catholic church. He talked about the differences, and the relative strengths and weaknesses of each. But, in the end, he said he was glad he converted to Catholicism, and it was worth putting up with a few folk Masses. (Anglo-Catholics are VERY into liturgy including all the "bells and smells," especially excellent music.) TeresaBenedicta
So, this may be very indicative of my super immaturity, but today before Mass I was daydreaming (not so much a day-dream as... I don't know, just a feeling? It just kind of happened outside of my control) of being in habit. And it made me wish all the more that I could actually be in formation now. That might be considered "too much" except in certain towns in California.
