i am so bad....

peyton and i were eating and talking at a restaurant after her softball game. I asked her why she thought I was weird. She said, AND I QUOTE.. "Dad, you're kinda old. You were born in the 50's and things are different now. We have TV and cars and color crayons now" I just looked at her.. then I advised her I was born in 1973. She said, "well that's in the olden times, you know what I mean about color crayons."

SO.. I excused myself and I told the management it was her birthday, and they came singing and everything...Peyton was beet red. Afterwards, she told me it was not her birthday...I told her I am getting old and I forgot.

then she TOTALLY rolled her eyes, and then asked when we were meeting mom.

Epic Dad win.

Weird is the new cool.

Weird has ALWAYS been cool. Plus, if you have the ability and willingness to embarass your 7(?)-year old, that is totally cool, and also indicates that you are raising a totally cool child.

Question: When does Peyton think color crayons were invented? They had color crayons (AND coloring books) in the 50's, even the 64-pack of Crayolas, including Burnt Umber.

not exactly sure. We have had a few conversations about black and white photos and then how advances in technology made color photos possible...

I somehow think this might be connected, but i am unsure.

A part of me is afraid to ask.

You didn't tell here that the world used to be in black and white, ala Calvin and Hobbes, did you?
