DojoGrant
I have assigned readings in my Renaissance and Reformation class by Erasmus, of which I will be writing a paper on. Two of them, according to the prof. were on the Index of Forbidden Books. Are these books still forbidden? If so, is it a sin to read them? Pio Nono
JMJ 4/14 - Easter Wednesday DojoGrant, Pope Paul VI abolished the Index of Forbidden Books back in the 1970s, so there's no longer a list for these books to be on. If you know a book you're reading was once on the Index, don't be afraid to read it, but be a little cautious to accept its teachings as Gospel truths. Reading the books that were once on the list is no longer a sin and you need not fear for your state of soul by reading them. I hope this helps.
