Gifts Of The Holy Spirit

I don't expect to speak in tongues tomorrow, because I think I've always had the gift of tongues, more or less. Not in the classic sense, but in the sense that I've always been good with language - either I was born with the ability, or I developed it early on.

I'd be interested to hear who else has what gifts.

I guess this is a more Charismatic question...haha

Anyway, I can say I have prayer tongues, never had the actual gift of tongues though.

I do have the gift of prophecy though. : ) Thanks to the Holy Spirit of course!

Praise Him!!

I suppose, if anything, I've got wonder & awe. I'm one of those people that walks out onto my back porch and sees the trees with the sun filtering through, and I'm taken with reverence for Him. He really does amaze me.

What I NEED is fortitude, though. I break way too quickly and crash way too hard.

Groo the Wanderer

knowledge
wisdom
right judgement
courage
reverence
wonder and awe

still working on being open to the understanding part...

Now - are ya'll actually talking about the Gifts, the Manifestations, or the Fruits?

- Wonder and awe... I tend to be easily amazed and enthralled by things. Life is fascinating. God is fascinating.
- Wisdom
- Piety
- Counsel

I thought this was something nice to ponder for today as well:

Correspondences between the seven Capital Virtues and the seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit (from Summa Theologica II.II):

The gift of wisdom corresponds to the virtue of charity.

The gift of understanding corresponds to the virtue of faith.

The gift of counsel (right judgment) corresponds to the virtue of prudence.

The gift of fortitude corresponds to the virtue of courage.

The gift of knowledge corresponds to the virtue of faith.

The gift of piety corresponds to the virtue of justice.

The gift of fear of the Lord (wonder and awe) corresponds to the virtue of hope.
For gifts of the Holy Spirit I think I have awe, fortitude, discernment, and piety. Fruits of the Holy Spirit Ive definitely noticed an increase in all of them lately but peace, joy, humility, and patience stand out.

I think I'm growing in Wisdom, I have Counsel and Fortitude (although both could use some growth!) and I really want understanding.

Maybe I'll specifically pray for an increase of faith tonight at mass, that'd be a good idea I think.
