Selah
I love it. I am learning a lot about my family tree in the process. So much fun
homeschoolmom
I haven't, but I'm thinking about it... How much does it cost?
Selah
Some parts are free. You can sign up for a monthly plan for 12.95 a month, though. So, it is a tad pricey. But, you can also do a 14 day trial to see how you like it. Just make sure you cancel after the trial is over so they don't start charging you. Groo the Wanderer
No thanks. I'll stick to Ebay and NewEgg. Don't need to buy any more ancestors. Not particularly proud of the ones I already have.

Mercy me
Out of curiosity, who runs Ancestry.com? I have heard and it may not be accurate, that often times Mormons operate these sites so that they can "baptize" the dead? I have always been careful of this type of site for that reason. Anyone know if this is true? I would be interested looking into my genealogy more.
Selah
why would the religion matter? I am part of it and the information is very accurate, though you tend to stumble upon inconsistancies at times... BG45
My cousin's husband used to use it all the time until it started telling him he was related to half a dozen nigh mythical kings and Thor.
CatherineM
When you get back beyond 500 years or so, it is best to double check the information by other sources. I saw a family tree once where someone traced themselves back to Adam and Eve. I believe through Joseph of Arimathea.

Vincent Vega
I'd like to see them try. It's like putting sprinkles on the ice cream I ate yesterday - just because they want to doesn't mean they can. Ancestry is good for the census records, but that's part of the payed section of the site. Hence, I use other sources.

And yep it was, the free edition where you start relying on other people's input that it accepts as fact.
