Hehe. I found the title ironic too.

I figured that while we were on the topic of sending Nihil to the seminary, I'd put in my two cents. You can yell at me for it over in the "Catholic Teen Talk" subphorum. I'm afraid I'm the one who killed it this time.

Like IgnatiusofLoyola said, Nihil, keep your options open. Both vocations are equally important.

The facts are thus:
1. If you would make a great husband, you would also be a great priest.
2. If you would be a lousy husband, you would make a lousy priest.
That's just the way it works. When you become a priest, you embrace the Church as your bride, and all of her members your sons and daughters (spiritually). Matrimony is also very noble, as it requires physically and spiritually fathering a family. They are both very important, and very beautiful.
But you still have plenty of time, Gods timing is always perfect!!! Whatever hardships that come with the priesthood, such as occasional lonelyness (although most priests I know are very happy) and immense pressure from the secular media, and all the trials that come with the married life, God will give you all the strength you need to successfully fufill your purpose here on earth.Just pray for His will when the time is right, and you will always be happy knowing that you're doing what he wants you to do. prayin for you!!

The almost-as-cool part is that the Sunday immediately following the Friday ordination, he's going to be at my parish (which was also his parish) to celebrate Mass. Two times the awesome.

It is jerks like this that really anger me.

According to this jerk, women (and who they may carry within their womb) are indispensable creatures. Women in his eyes are truly nothing because after all what they are and who they carry are simply indespensable. There is no respect for womenhood or life. And when the situtation claims burden- you should have the option and the encouragement (from God's Church) to kill that "burden" off.

How derogatory is this idea towards women!!!!!!!! I find this person's opinion sickening and offensive.


It makes me extremely gratful for the Church and her strong backbone.
