Consecrated Hosts At My Parish Treated Disrespectfully

I went to the 8 a.m. mass today and Fr. announced that lately there have been what appear to be consecrated hosts found in missalets, the trash bin, and in other places in the church. I don't know if any of this was done deliberately or not, but we want to end this, so please pray. :bigpray:

"Now we go to Jim, who has the weather." "Thanks, Todd. Across the world, it looks like a cold front is moving in. Intellects will continue to be darkened, and wills are going to continue to choose evil, at least for the foreseeable future. The forecast for the next few years seems to include dark and cloudy skies with a strong chance of fire and brimstone on most afternoons. Doppler radar indicates that the conditions are perfect for the development of scorpion-laden tornadoes."

I hope they find out later that they were unconsecrated hosts being used as a prank by altar boys. That happened once when I was a kid.

That is horrible. I will keep this in my prayers. We've had cases here where some kids were playing with the Sacred Host and laughing at Him. It is sorrowful.

That's sad if they were consecrated. What makes you think that they were?

Our pastor told us that he thought they were. They probably are since were talking about individual hosts being found. One in the trash, another in the missalette, etc.

Sad

I had an experience about a month ago during Holy Communion when I happened to look up to see a young teen holding the Blessed Sacrament after coming from line. Other people who saw just shrugged their sholders and kept walking :ohno: so I politely excused myself and quietly followed her back to her seat where she was showing Jesus to her friends. I whispered, "Hi just wanting to let you know that that's Jesus (I was really shakey at this point) and you're supposed to consume Him if you're a Catholic in the state of Grace." Then she looked at the Host again and said, "Oh. Sorry." and gave me Jesus. It was such a crazy situation but I'm glad Christ didn't get thrown on the floor that day ...

Woah. This is super messed up. Prayers for all those who would deliberately disrespect Him. :sadder:

I usually go to the abbey of Tongerlo, and sometimes there are classes from schools that come to Mass. The sacrilege is so great then. There is a serious lack of catechesis these days and people just shove up in line to desecrate the Host as if Holy Communion is just some kind of formality.

Thy Geekdom Come

"For God so loved the world..."

Amazing to think how strong that love is. Any one of us would have given up long ago.
