ThePenciledOne
Just because parents can homeschool their kids doesn't mean they should have to do that as the only means have having any control over the school their kids attend and for which they pay (through the nose in most places, I might add).
Well, thats why they are options. And then again this issue dealt with a sport, which is an extra-curricular activity, not exactly necessary with their schooling and something that the school offers as a small beneficial fun thing more or less.
That doesn't mean we should roll over and take it.
Seems like we are taking it. I mean, most of the conservative arguments that I have heard at school and even with Pro-Life arguments is put in politicians that represent "our" views, and then no one stops to think that it was politicians that got us into that mess to begin with. And on top of that how many politicians can we trust that actual live up to that ideal? I mean, Stupak did alright but in the end he ended up showing his true nature. So, I think this is the real problem. I mean, honestly I have never read so much unnecessary things then when I go onto a politicians website, who is running for Congress etc. and all it does is list this or that and what they think on number 1 number 2 number 3 issue etc. and that is all I get. I get a nice prime and proper suit administrative man/woman. Its like they all come out of a factory. Yet, no one seems to really care about this fact either and just write it off as, well that is what politicians are/do.

I'd imagine people would be more comfortable with reforms than anarchy, but then, I haven't seen the polls.
Never said tribes. Never said trash either, I actually prefer burn. People are ok with reforms, because they never actually change anything, or they change things so much that the people generally have no power thereafter and then we have the French revolution on our hands. And generally, I don't think reforms do all that much, its the people in the system that need to be reformed.
I am for this. ^

I'm for reforms that actually reform, not changing from Clinton to Bush to Obama (who, for all intents and purposes, are then same men in different suits).
And generally, I don't think reforms do all that much, its the people in the system that need to be reformed.
This hits it. "If you want a Marxist revolution, you have to join with others to overthrow the present system, but if you want a Thoreauvian revolution, you need to change only your own life, not that of others." Not that I'm advocating changing the system to that of strict Thoreauvianism, but a revolution in the style of Thoreauvianism needs to take place within individual Americans.
What exactly is Thoreauvainism? I have never heard of that before hahaha, and I love Thoreau to death. My conservative roommate this past semester called me a Transcendentalist, (with certain distaste I may add haha)
