Ok, the school board is exercising a right here and its a public school, so it will be moved if it has to.

Honestly, people relax.

All this will blow over, just like the healthcare bill. <_<

Public schools ought to be run by the parents who are paying for them and the taxpayers in general. The whole idea that a school would do this without consulting parents is outrageous.

Then home-school them.

Public means = Government Funded.

Yes, I know OUR taxes go towards that, but then my taxes go toward war mongering funding, abortion funding, and plenty of other projects that I would never support anyway.

Which is why you should insist that the government not use your money for illegitimate purposes.

If the government were practicing the Principle of Subsidiarity, this sort of thing wouldn't be happening. Parents shouldn't have to send their kids to private school to have a say in policies and decisions. This is taxation without representation.

No wonder you're an anarchist.
I'd be an anarchist too if I believed the people should have no say in the government.

More or less, though parents can home-school their kids too and not have to spend a boat full of money for private schools, which aren't really all that cracked up. I have seen and known a family or two that home-schools with pretty good success even with only one parent working.

Sorry, let me check the latest news on what is going on in Washington......oh I was scared for a second......we still don't have a say.

EDIT: Sorry didn't mean for that to come of so incredibly sarcastic. : )

It's ok, it's like a second language to me.

So in your opinion, it's all or nothing? There's no such thing as any sort of representative republic?

Just because parents can homeschool their kids doesn't mean they should have to do that as the only means have having any control over the school their kids attend and for which they pay (through the nose in most places, I might add).

That doesn't mean we should roll over and take it.

Well, as far as representative republic, with the current system and the way politicians are now, no there is no such thing. At least not here.

And as far as I am concerned it would take a true restructuring to fix the current system, but then most people are uncomfortable when that is said.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm okay with rebooting our entire political and economic systems.

Instead we should just trash it all and live in tribes? I'd imagine people would be more comfortable with reforms than anarchy, but then, I haven't seen the polls.
