this is quite possibly the most pointless post i have read today.

you are as bad as all those people claiming EVERYONE who didnt like obama was a racist. and you seem to be the one bringing this up all of a sudden, projecting much?
I think Sarah Palin needs to stay at home and focus her attention on domestic activities like cooking and cleaning, because she is a woman.

That is a sexist comment about Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin needs to stay home so she does not pollute the world with her stupidity.

That is a comment about Sarah Palin. Notice that I am not saying she needs to stay home because she is a woman. That would be sexist. I am simply saying that she needs to remain at home, or any place with minimal contact with the outside world, because every time she opens her mouth she pollutes the world with her idiocy.

See the difference?

that video is awesome hassan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAC05nrYCdg&feature=related

btw, KoC i wasnt referring to Palin specifically in that post. there are actually a few PMers and a large chunk of the politically minded people in the USA that i was referring to, but sure, assume i am insulting this one woman.

except that they are incredibly labour intensive and very polluting and devastating to the environment, even in comparison to other oil sources, in retrieval and refining.

as a canadian(and one who might end up being employed up there) i hate to say it, but the alberta oil sands are kind of a black cloud hanging over canada's environmental record.
That's what a lot of people want you to think about them. It's exaggerated at best.

I would say that the biggest downside is the huge amounts of refining required by the sands.

I just heard about that dome thing today actually  didn't think it would work.

 ok? what does Sara Palin have to do with this oil spill? seriously, don't drag around posts from one thread to another.
"Drill baby Drill" is Sarah Palin's quote. I've not dragged anything, I'm tried of seeing the same simpleton sexist arguments against Sarah Palin because she is a woman. And yes it is because she is a woman, and conservative. Any time any female or minority walks of the plantation of Liberalism, their attacked.

------

Calling a women air headed, ditsy and dumb is a classic sexist argument, and most of Sarah Palin's critics use classical sexist arguments like that against her. I'm just tired of seeing J_lol's sexist hate for Mrs Palin worked into every thread.

Saw a news report about the tar balls coming up on the beach now. People on the beach were getting it stuck on them. I guess if they drilled in the Arctic wildlife refuge, that it wouldn't affect sunbathers if there was a leak.

@@ anyway the reason the Dome failed was because ice particals were forming at the top where they oil was suppose to rise up into a pipe. The ice prevent that and it cause the failure.

I am also mystified by Jesus_lol's constantly bringing up Sarah Palin in threads. His hatred for the woman is pretty evident.

its a pretty energy intensive process, and im pretty sure a far from clean one. though that does go with the territory of natural gas and oil.

I didnt think she was the person who said it, it seems to be a fairly common conservative quote, that i have heard from plenty of people and politicians. stop pulling this bleeding heart bull croutons on me. it is not because she is a woman, any more than me disliking George Bush for most of the same reasons being because he is a man. it is not entirely because she is a conservative. her views are conservative, but i mostly take issue how she presents them.

i called Bush air headed ditsy and dumb, does that make me a reverse sexist as well? so far i have worked it into ONE thread which isnt this one. "drill baby drill" is used up here pretty commonly to refer to all the people against new energy source research that just want to keep drilling no matter what.
this thread would have continued on its own little happy way if you hadnt let your new dislike for me bleed over into it.

i guess whenever people work Obama into threads about abortion and politics here on PM they are using classic racist arguments

no kidding eh? if every perceivable argument against Palin is construed as being sexist, they arent really placing much hope on her being viewed objectively.

constantly apparently now means one time. one time it was palin, this time it was referring to a large political group like the tea partiers who palin happens to be a part of. as well as a whole other bunch of people.

take a good look at how much PM brings up the liberals and obama. you dont have a problem with constantly bringing up hatred, you just think i should be hating someone else.

in other news...

even Fidel Castro has weighed in on this event http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/05/08/world/main6469488.shtml
and i am surprised to say, he may have a point
"Fidel Castro says the spreading oil slick fouling the Gulf of Mexico is proof that the world's most powerful governments cannot control large corporations that now dictate the public's destiny."

this issue does quite seriously affect the public.

J_lol seriously you are coming off as an offensive bigot. Why not simply take a break from posting about Sarah Palin, and maybe even take a break from posting about American politics . . . after all you are a Canadian, and so you do not even have horse in the race.

I'm not sure why, but I always had the idea that those off shore wells basically went all the way to the bottom, but I guess they just float on top of the water like a ship, and just the pipe goes deep. I guess I'm surprised that more of this doesn't happen. I've lived next to salt water, and it will eventually eat through practically everything. Makes me wonder as these platforms age, if more of this kind of thing isn't going to happen.

This is a decent video explaining what's going on. There are probably others, but I saw this pop up on YouTube.

Sometimes, I feel sorry for you.

calling a woman 'dumb' is only sexist if you say or imply that she is dumb by virtue of her being a woman. Sarah Palin's stupidity has nothing to do with her sex.
