How To Answer A Facebook Status?

When I see a stupid status, I usually just ignore it. There's just no point in getting into an argument on facebook with my liberal friend about abortion. Though I may private message her, if I feel I should.

I have seen this stupid message and I want to punch all of them in the face... even my friends. There's so much to say about it but I'm afraid I'd hurt some virgin ears.

All I can say is... every single day the homosexuals are pissing me off more and more and more. I have homosexual friends and I find myself distancing myself from them. I used to pray for them all the time and now? it just seems like they don't want the prayers so why waste my breath?

I'm sorry the homosexual community angers you, but perhaps you could channel it in a positive way? :idontknow: just a thought. You musn't ever lose hope or give up hope :)

God Conquers

Contraception and divorce destroyed its reputation. Homosexual Marriage kicks its dead corpse. Thousands of men, women and children today and throughout history proved its infinite value and enduring worth as a safe haven of humanity. It's up to us to restore the reputation.

I would hate to say marriage is a dead corpse... especially since I get married in 23 days...

That might be a bit harsh

To be fair, the argument is pretty sound for most people against homosexual marriage with the exception of catholics. simply cause they all think its ok to get divorced.

hot tip: if a guy presents himself as a profamily politician, but has had 4 messy divorces or cheats on his wife, you can safely throw his arguments away as hypocritical.

My counter-argument:

Protestants like to say that homosexual marriage would destroy the institution. The problem is that it's really only half true. Homosexual marriage would destroy what's left of the institution, but contraception, pornography, and self-centeredness have done the damage we already see, and there are fewer Protestants willing to fight those evils. So yes, homosexual marriage would cause terrible damage, but don't let the fact that another evil has already destroyed it convince you that somehow homosexual marriage is good. If America had dropped another atomic bomb on Nagasaki, it would have destroyed it further, but just because it had already been mostly destroyed doesn't make it okay to enter the launch codes.

i would have to disagree with what i bolded. there has been a LOT of activity by Protestants against pornography. the head sheriff of the county that my city is in has been incredibly draconian in his attempts to rid pornography from here. CCV (Citizens for Community Values) is a local interfaith organization backing up his efforts and they've been very successful in their efforts. unfortunately, they have gone too far more often than not and have caused a lot of embarrassment to those who oppose the distribution and public display of pornography.

self-centeredness and homosexual marriage (and, sadly, rights) have been heavily attacked by Protestants, as well. contraception is obviously less-opposed by Protestants, but there are those who fight it. btw when i say "Protestants" in this post, though, i mean fundamentalists, of course...
