many of these people are not educated in the law of our country. They don't know the first steps about becoming citizens. Most don't speak English, don't read English. They are coming to our country to get away from the cesspool that is their native land... ...millions are here to have a better life... and then you have the scumbags that create the havoc, like the cholos with their drugs that force states like Arizona to enact bills like this in the name of "security." But fighting illegal immigration is like fighting the drug war...it's a losing battle... Seriously, I don't think there is anything that can curb illegal immigration without it becoming a greatly divided and racist issue... and i wish it was just "asking for papers." There will be arrests, there will be innocent people detained...and heaven forbid, some americans being "sent back" to mexico... stuff like this does happen... it would be GREAT if our nation can truly secure the borders...but that's not going to happen. The only thing I can think of, is to allow amnesty to those already here, (with the exception of the true criminals, who actually break more laws than being here illegally. It's not fair to paint all of them as criminals. ) But that will be a monumental task, to get these millions on our citizenship rolls, and have them start paying their taxes...
Clearly you haven't read it. Many law experts say the Law will easily stand up to strong Constitutional Scrutiny. Arizona did a lot of work to see that this law was not flawed. And again, racist cops will exploit any law.
Ephrem Augustine
Prominent African American males in and around Los Angeles, driving expensive cars, dressed in nice or decent business suits were reporting that they were getting pulled over for DWB, driving while black. These were like City Judges, Lawyers, Council Officials, Business Owners, and other well to do gentlemen, they were suspected of being drug lords because after all, according to the police officers that pulled them over, black people just don't drive nice cars or have nice suits unless they are street hustlers. You tell me if decent Hispanic men in Arizona will not be harassed. If only I knew police were as considerate as those in this phorum who do support this law and and are optimistic about the police officers, I might have more satisfaction.
The exodus from Mexico does nothing at all to improve Mexico, in fact it only makes matters worse. The open border is destroying Mexico. It is creating a vacuum. Running away from their problems will not make those problems go away, they will only bring those problems with them. And when those problems come to America, where will they run then? Where do there loyalties actually lie? They betrayed their homeland and left it for dead, would they not do the same for America? Illegal immigrates from Mexico may not read or speak English but there not stupid. They know what they are doing is illegal, this is why they avoid law enforcement like the plague. Any Illegal immigrate no matter their race is a criminal, it is completely fair to state that because it is the truth.

And it is a stereotypical racist view of those in law enforcement. By the way, I find it odd how you are quick to call certain people "scumbags" as you protest a law that others on your side deem "dehumanizing". If an American citizen forgot his licence and was pulled over for speeding, he might be brought to the station for questioning but it would not be hard for the police to look him up in the system. ThePenciledOne
It's funny that as Catholics we are called to live people Yet, I have seen the word 'racist' at least 25 times (exaggeration) and the fact that the law over shoots people here. As I have personally said already, I do not support illegal immigration, but the law is open to de-humanizing the illegal aliens and will also foster more of an anti-hispanic attitude in AZ. I think the evil that it creates outweighs the good it is supposed to provide....
