I Got Detention Today

I think Anthony is an awesome character.

Having cool Superman moment shows a lack of character? He should have punched through his teacher's sternum.

Wow, that's a shame. Last time I did that it resulted in an official school holiday called "Superhero Day", which involved a parade in my honour and free root beer floats.

The last time I got detention had to do with my 8th grade science fair project I think.

I never got detention, either. I was a goody goody public school girl. In my experience, it was the girls who went to Catholic school who were always getting into trouble. I might have been the same way if I'd gone to Catholic school. When there are SO many rules, it makes me WANT to break a rule once in awhile, expecially a petty rule (or, at least a rule that "I" see as petty).

On the other hand, I was raised with, "We trust your judgement," and very few specific rules. It's really tough to live up to that when you're a kid. I think I ended up more "goody, goody" than many of the Catholic girls.

Funny, if they hadn't "translated" the teacher's signature on the detention slip, I would have thought it looked a lot like "Nihil Obstat."

I still don't know why Tony got detention and lost 10 "character points" on his "permanent record" for wanting to be Superman. At least he was aiming high and wanting to help people and save the world. If his T-shirt had read "Evil Overlord" that might have been different.

Edit: Sorry for the duplicate post. If a lame post is worth making once, it's worth making twice.
