You're not? What happens when you try to? I don't recall restricting anyone on my friendlist from posting on it. :scratchhead"

Yeah is occurred to me that it wouldn't be as exciting for anyone who is FB friends with me. I should have posted here before Facebook. The lame board allows for so much more suspense and excitement than a 300 letter status.

There isn't an area where I can write anything. The option just isn't there.

If you despise cheap books, does this mean it turned out badly?
Ah, no... that one has yet to come. :woot:

I was referring to a copy of God and the World that I bought... I thought there was only one edition, with a nice matte softcover. But apparently it's not... it turned out to be this really cheap glossy paperback... supposedly it was "read gently once" but if that's the case, the binding of this edition is really terrible. <_<

It just came! :woot: Way sooner than I expected!

And it's BEAUTIFUL!

And smaller than I thought it was, which is awesome, because it really won't be too bulky to pray with on a daily basis. It was also in nicer condition than I anticipated.

And wouldn't you know it, it came on the feast of Blessed Giles of Assisi, whom I love dearly, and I'd forgotten it was even his feast day! :saint:

Man, I wish I had your book radar.

I use DealOz.com for all of the books I buy online... it searches the prices for pretty much all of the online book marketplaces... This was the first time I'd used their rare book search.

Actually, after I found it, I looked to see what I could find for Carmelites for you. :nerd:

Mostly old copies of the Rule... I'm not sure what that first result is... the only thing related to the divine office sounds like it's some kind of manual, not the actual text... plus it sounds kind of expensive.

Treasure in Clay came too. I was so excited about the antiphonale though that I forgot to open it for 45 minutes.

My copy of Trojan Horse in the City of God is expected to arrive within two or three weeks. ^_^

Does it always take that long to ship something from the states?

Depends on what you're shipping. If I had ordered from Amazon, I could expect 2-4 weeks, and I've done that many times before. Unfortunately Trojan Horse in the City of God is rather difficult to find. Impossible to find new and at a reasonable price. :P I ordered it through AbeBooks, which really was only redirecting me to an even smaller local bookseller from Kentucky, I think. So I'm ordering it used and just through a local shop who might even be acting as another intermediary with a private person.
So shipping is estimated at anywhere from 20-50 days, I think. For this kind of order. :P It's tough for me because I hate waiting for stuff in the mail.

It's all worth it though. This copy is really lightly used (just a name written on the inside cover), but it cost under $10 before shipping!

I thought I'd post a few pictures of some of the beautiful artwork in it. :saint:

and then this is one of the notes that was inside, I thought was kind of cool. It's about singing O Sanctissima and Salve Sancta Pater for the Transitus and Fr. Angelo's feast day. ^_^

There were two more but they aren't loading properly, so I will in a minute.
