Just incase anyone was interested. It does list some positives about Protestantism, but it also lists the negatives.

Lumberjack:

When's the last time you allowed yourself to be open-minded?

I haven't seen any diss, your, or even my faith.
lumberjack,

What in the article do you take offense to?
what wasn't there to take offense to?

comparing the christian faith to postmodern secularism?

how would YOU feel if I wrote a very nice, very wordy article about how the Catholic Church is comparable to satanists?

getting past all the jargon...its basically making any noncatholic out to be a touchy feely do-it-yourselfer.

anthropological pessimism? yeah...thats just great.

Justified Saint

Lumber, how about we stop with the double standard. By that standard just about everything you write is a diss on the Catholic Church and far worse, just look at your above post. You have even engaged in character assasination saying to individuals that they can't think for themselves and in essence are ignorant. Yet there is hardly a comparison in the approach and scholarly criticisms in the above article and your posts.

I don't think you have a whole lot of room to talk.

LOL

protestantism is not a faith.... it is a collection of faiths. There are many protestant faiths... over 34,000....

Ignorance is not bliss, you should really study before you make comments on things Catholic, because Catholic is one faith, there are ample sources that you can see exactly what we will rebut your arguments with... be smart, beat us at our own game, search the Catholic sites we use, and study and rebut the articles before hand, then when we bring them up you'll be able to crush our error...
In the end, while many Evangelicals have made heroic and admirable attempts at turning the tide of secularization, Protestantism itself is simply not radical enough to effect the needed change.
true. protestantism itself can't do anything. that's why we leave it up to God.

Good Friday

I didn't find anything particularly offensive in the article, but then again, I'm not a Protestant.

I just hope this thread doesn't become "Why Protestants Stink, Part One Billion."

God Conquers

Good article. It's not bashing, It's just displaying objective truths.

Historically Protestantism breeds individualistic and revolutionary action. Look at England, the Anglican Church tried to hold onto many aspects of Catholicism, especially the Authority of Tradition and Liturgy, in order to prevent revolutionary protestantism from flinging them into wars and peasant revolts. It ultimately failed, because they arguably went too far, or just not far enough, and BAM Civil War and 20 years without Christmas and dancing.
