Well, since these items are stainless steel, I doubt they repel anything. If the Sisters had them (which they don't) they would probably use them to eat with. I suspect they need them more than I do. Plus, any werewolves in the neighborhood know full well that the convent is a "werewolf-free zone."

I guess there's no right way, but I use spoons for pretty much everything when they're available. That or chopsticks. Not a big fork person.
