My first thought was, "his parents must be so proud."

Wish I could give you ten+1s.

"Dimilo said he is a devout Catholic, but decided to fund his girlfriend's late term abortion.
"Devout Catholic" seems to mean less and less each day.
He said he and his girlfriend tried to practice safe sex and said he isn't proud about funding his girlfriend's abortion.
As long as they were trying to practice "safe sex," that makes it all good.
Dimilo hopes to become a liberal activist after graduation.
Sounds like he's already well-prepared for his future career.

I saw that clip of Nancy Pelosi, except she said "ardent".

I'm a vegan, but I eat meat and eggs and I wear clothes made from animals.

I think what he means is that he "wishes he could be a devout Catholic" except that it's too hard, no fun and the Church is out of touch-- but if those things were not "true," he'd be totally on board.
