They let themselves get pushed around all the time by crazy ideology.

I myself was unsure about my opinions and beliefs on many matters in high school, it takes a lot of knowledge and strength to uncover the issues without basis input from outside. It takes even more strength to defend yourself after forming such beliefs when simple discussions turn into an attack on what you believe.[/size][/font]

This is exactly what my sex ed classes in my public high school were. I guess I knew it wasn't like that everywhere, but I've never really thought before about how much worse they must be. I grew up in a heavily mennonite area and many of the mennonites were up in arms about having a sex ed class that even mentioned contraception existed. The word condom was forbidden from my middle school, so in health class when my gym teacher talked about condoms and their effectiveness he whispered the word (to be silly).

Friday night on the news the first story they covered was on the high rise of s.t.d.'s in my home state (Iowa.) I giggled when the anchorman began with, "What could be the cause of this rise in sexually transmitted diseases?" I thought ah...DUH!
