So there.
JMJ I have had Last Rites four times. Potty humour ie toilet talk was never cool I want to have purple hair I grew up in kindergarten cuz I realized crayons and coloring are uncool once you are older than six From now on I am not using contractions so the grammer nuts do not go nuts. I always insist on being called Miss when I babysit, but that does make me feel old, weird.
I'd rather pick mine out for myself than force someone to pick it out for me. I had to pick my dad's out. Wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Ash Wednesday
I'd rather pick mine out for myself than force someone to pick it out for me. I had to pick my dad's out. Wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
I had to pick my mom's out, too. That and doing a bunch of other unexpected funeral arrangements flat out blew chunks, because I was the only one of the "family children" left in town. At times my dad seemed frightened like a child and was asking me about everything because he wasn't any more prepared for it than I was. Yeah, that aged me pretty fast. IgnatiusofLoyola
On a similar note--I felt like a grown-up when I realized that I had gone to more funerals than weddings in the past few years.
Hilde
I've been to three funerals and no weddings, in my whole life.
My first thought was that that was sad. My second thought was that you have been spared the unique American ritual for women of the "incredibly ugly bridesmaid dress." For whatever reason, dresses for bridesmaids in the U.S. are almost uniformly ugly, or, at minimum, unflattering--even if the bride herself is wearing a beautiful dress. And, usually the bridesmaid has to pay for her own dress, and they are often expensive.

MissyP89
You know you're a grown-up when your little cousins all wake up for school and you realize that you don't have to, because you've graduated and are now unemployed.
