Jaime
[quote name='God Conquers' date='05 April 2010 - 10:20 PM' timestamp='1270520417' post='2087379'] I know a priest who will sometimes attend mass at a local parish but not concelebrate. What does this mean? Is it normal? He doesn't wear clerics or anything, and the likelihood of him already having celebrated 2 masses already is very unlikely. What's your take? CatherineM
We have a retired priest who is a member of our parish. He was pastor here like 30 years ago. He's a tad unsteady on his feet, and his hands shake, so he just sits in the pew. He did say one mass at his 50th anniversary celebration. He takes part in all the activities of the parish, he just doesn't say mass anymore. I do notice that he makes a point to sit where he knows he can receive the Eucharist from the priest and not a EM. Starets
It could be that the priest in question does not have faculties (is that the word I am looking for?) to celebrate in the archdiocese.

Pretending to text message during the homily when in reality he is taking notes.
Bennn
I don't think there's a problem with it. But I would find it a bit weird.
