(I'm not being a smart aleck, I'm genuinely curious.)
"Art. 6. In Masses celebrated in the presence of the people in accordance with the Missal of Bl. John XXIII, the readings may be given in the vernacular, using editions recognised by the Apostolic See." -Summorum Pontificum Also, have you read Spirit of the Liturgy? If not, I highly recommend it.

John XXIII, which still require the readings in the context of the mass itself to be in Latin.
Deus te Amat
I attended the Easter Vigil at St. Peter's Basilica. I arrived in the Square around 10:30 am, and waited in line until 7:30 when they (sort of) opened the gates. It was a very interesting 9 hours... The vigil was one of the most beautiful liturgies I've ever attended. Rexi, there were only 4 readings, French, English, Spanish, and I think Hebrew but that might have been on Good Friday... the Triduum is kind of running together in my memory. (It was in Italian if it wasn't Hebrew). 6 people were baptized, 5 of whom were also confirmed (one was about 5 years old ). It was simply incredible. The waiting paid off -- I had a front row seat. Tridenteen
JMJ I attended all Holy Week Services, as well as the Triduum. I was barely able to stay awake for Vigil. but it was beautiful. There was the candelight procession, and that was very nice. The music was all Palestrina, and that was phenomenal. I wore my Hungarian dress, (to give the dress maker publicity it's www.harmony.hu) and forgot my inahaler, which was torture. I ask you, why must the incensor go nuts with incense the one day of the year I lose my purse? Good Friday was beautiful, and we venerated the cross. The poor priests looked even worse than I did, zombie tired really.
