Sigh ... its not a "physical chastisement."

My Mom and Dad got into a fight. She picked up a spatula and smacked him on the bottom. Playfully.

This passage does not give Muslim men a right to beat their wives because of their wives "high handedness." It is sort of a cheerful commentary on handling domestic relations. nag them, refuse to have sex with them, hit them with a wet noodle ... It is not some dark thing.
