Yea, those guys actually scare me a lot. Some of those guys can do a lot of damage if they feel like it.

Lol, the party van is just a bit of a self-referential meme that they started. The idea is that the "party van" gets posted when someone is pushing the boundaries of legality, and the party van represents the FBI coming after them.

On the other hand some good has come from 4chan's anonymity and computerskills.

some guy posted a picture there of two young girls and his creepy fantasies involving them, etc, wondering how to take it further, and the other posters did a little internet sleuthing, figured out what school the girls went to and sent all the info to the principals, warning of a creepy relative of one of the girls, etc.

and other good things. but like all vigilante justice, and a lot of court appointed justice, sometimes they ruin the wrong person's life. and that smells of elderberries.
