Margarite
There was a documentary about the church on A&E and they brought up several interesting stories, one of them was that there was a female Pope at one time that reigned for two years. Is it true?
BLAZEr
This is a myth that has been popular recently. The female popes name is usally "Joan" . . . and it finds its origin in a stained glass window in some church in Italy where it apparently says "Joan" for some popes name . . . of course, John in Latin is "Joannes" so "Joan" is probably an abbreviation.
