I liked this from the part about praying the Liturgy of the Hours:
When they say:

O God, come to my assistance,

they should think that Our Lord answers:

Be attentive to My love.
GOtta say, I lurve their habits.

I always wonder why older PM'ers who are looking at monasteries don't seem to consider the Visitation nuns, who are very amenable to late vocations. I guess they don't feel called there.

Good point, Dame Agnes. They wear the full habit and BOY are they nice. I am currently in discernment with one and if all goes well, and I get my courage up, September 8th will be the day!

I am still waiting for my job to reach my 6 month mark so I can request vacation and go visit a Visitation Monastery either in Mobile, AL or Snellville. I will probably try Snellville first because it's more accessible because of the Atlanta airport. :)

Yes, I was impressed by the "older" novices...& the song with the slideshow was lovely too.

...even the darkness is radiant in your sight.

This made me laugh because this older PMer would love to have a vocation to the Visitation, it would be so much easier, but that fact is that one is called to a charism as well as to religious life. I am a Carmelite inside and out. I would even like to be called to the Dominicans because I love Aquinas, and am a teacher, but no, God does things in His own way....

and a friend of mine is checking out the Visitation in Toledo and told me all about them, and I thought.... why can't that be me to?? :)
