Here are the rules:
I am not a democrat (nor a republican), but can you, as a - what I am assuming to be - republican say that you agree with each and every discreet stance of the GOP?
No. But in the area of supporting the pro-life cause, the GOP is day to the democrat night. Where I stand on issues if very close to the opinions at National Review, and National Review will cut into republicans when necessary. They are supportive of the Church too. Jesus_lol
im not sure you get it. I am a Liberal who is Pro Life. just because there isnt a political party that exists, that mirrors my beliefs exactly doesnt mean mine dont count or that i cant vote by my conscience, voting liberal programs in and against abortion when i can. there is nothing distinctly Conservative(not i did not say GOP or Republican) about a Pro Life Stance. Didymus
Phyllis Schlafly was a Republican before they were pro-life and it didn't seem mythical to her to stay in the party to try to change it from within. She has a lot of nerve. And by the way, she should try saying these things to Rep. Dan Lipinski, of Illinois, a Democrat and a good Catholic, who did actually vote against the bill. Cannot be pro-life and democrat? I don't follow her reasoning, but then again, she must be using the logic of ideology.

Using the aforementioned rules, let's put the record of the democrats and republicans side by side and compare. No one can do it. They simply wave anomalies around. "I know congressman Yuck N. Stuck is a pro-life democrat." Someone watching the voting results with me on the healthcare bill noted some democrats voting against the bill. Sure, it's easy to take a stand against and claim you did because of the abortion issue AFTER the democrats have all the votes they needed. Many of those against on the democrat side came in after they reached their 216 count.

The Democratic party in the united states is NOT generally prolife. if i had my way it would be. you cant seem to grasp the concept of going against the party line here. there is the odd democrat that is against abortion. i would likely vote for one of them if possible.
