As someone who grew up during the reign of Edwin Edwards, I hardly disagree. However, from what I read, all of Louisiana's congresspeople were against this bill except Mary Landrieu. I have never verified this against the voting record.

Thy Geekdom Come
I'm an experienced RN who has subspecialties in oncology and hospice. I'm pissed. So much so that I think that my nursing career might just be over. I'm investigating what I need to do to get credentialed as a teacher.
I can understand. I wouldn't want to work with the elderly under Obamacare. Crazy euthanasia advocates.
Apotheoun
I am sure that every American is pleased that the IRS will be in charge of making sure that everyone has insurance, because dealing with the IRS is always a joyful experience. There is nothing so joyful as having levies placed against you if you cannot buy insurance, or having your wages garnished, or having the IRS access your bank accounts in order to remove the monies they want. The future is very bright indeed. Edited March 22, 2010 by Apotheoun

melporcristo
JMJT You all might know more about one of my senators than I do; I wanted to know if you all heard if Senator Jim Risch is going to sue the House of Rep. for this move on the Obamacare? I've heard this in various places - would it even be worth the fight?? Is it even possible to do this?? thessalonian
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for this thread but the pro-life dems who voted for this bill have been had. The US bishops consulted their legal experts and an executive order cannot be issued contrary to legislation. http://www.redstate.com/dan_mclaughlin/2010/03/21/us-catholic-bishops-executive-order-deal-a-non-starter/
Nihil Obstat
Best quote so far about the healthcare bill, from some random dude on Facebook whose post made its way to a blog: Paula: "Give them nothing, but take from them... everything!" I love 300!!! Christopher: Oh, I thought that's what they said in the house healthcare vote today. Oops.
