dUSt
Well, I've suspended Bruce for 21 days. His first suspension was 7 days, his second was 14 days, and since then, he's been warned by two seperate moderators on two separate occasions. I have a responsibility to maintain civility. Just wanted to let y'all know. Please don't use this thread to do any Bruce bashing. The purpose of his suspension was so that this phorum may regain some lost charity--let's work on that. God bless. the lumberjack
is it really that Bruce lacked charity? or the fact that he had been a catholic for so long, and could quote carp you people will never read in your lifetime that shows how much the catholic church morphs to hide its erronious positions that so clearly go against the Word of God Himself? He has nothing but love for you people, and all you do is come back at him with double talk, circular arguments and claims of him not even being a Christian. thats charity. thats love. who on this board said "the truth hurts"? oh...it was jason...
I don't believe he paid attention if he was ever Catholic. He comes with typical anti-Catholic lies and halftruths about the Church. Things that any Catholic that pays attention half of the time would know... or at least find out from a Catholic source what the truth is. It is foolish to go by hearsay. -ironmonk
dUSt
is it really that Bruce lacked charity?
Yes. phatmass has a warning system that tracks the amount of times moderators have to warn members about their behavior. The offenses are usually deleted. Bruce was on his ninth warning--warnings that were given to him by multiple moderators--so it wasn't some type of personal agenda. The last thing I want is to prohibit people from participating in this phorum--but if an individual is repeatedly warned, there's nothing much I can do. If Bruce has such a hard time respecting the rules and guidelines of this phorum, I can see why he would have such a hard time accepting the rules and guidelines of the Church. I look forward to the day he returns, and pray that he'll respect the atmosphere I'm trying to maintain when he gets back. If you have any issues with the way I run this site, e-mail me personally. dUSt
Oh--and trust me when I say that plenty of Catholic have been warned as well--it's not limited to non-Catholics. Lumberjack - Debate skills or ability to prove the Church wrong have nothing to do with it. If you've been around phatmass in the past, I doubt you'd be making this accusation. I take offense at your post, as it applies that I lack love and charity. I will work on this aspect of my life, and invite you to do the same. the lumberjack
I never said YOU lacked charity dust...but many people on here do. I'm not saying I haven't been charitable all the time...by any means. you say he came posting half truths and lies and blah blah blah blah blah.... but the thing is...I saw that at least 95% of his stuff was QUOTES DIRECTLY from a Catholic site! and people would come back and call him names and say they'd pray for him and mock him... not providing a biblical or otherwise answer. dUSt
Okay. I agree that many Catholics on here lack charity. That fact upsets me more than anything, and causes me more stress than everything else associated with this website combined. But Bruce was suspended for very specific offenses--not just one or two, but nine. I gave him multiple warnings, yet, his behavior continued. If you witness an uncharitable comment by a Catholic, use the "report!" button. That member will be warned. If the warnings multiply, that member, just like Bruce, will be suspended. There's no bias here. The only bias we have is against lack of charity.
the lumberjack
no...I don't and probly won't report acts of ill will towards me and other protestants. just so long as they don't mind IF I respond in just as harsh a way...though most of the times, I don't. they have their opinion of us, and I don't really care. more than anything else, it trully is all love. if it wasn't I would have left after the first time my little Christian heart got crushed. I have grown too much in the Lord to let someone just try to make me angry over words tossed...even if they mean them from the heart. its like a Jehovah's witness or a Mormon or a seventh day adventist saying the same thing...I take no offense. they do not offend me, nor do they offend the Word of God I carry...they offend the denomination they represent. God bless.

dUSt
Well, if you're unwilling to help the moderators by reporting offensive behavior, then to be consistent, I don't feel like you should bring the issue up. You can't use something against someone if you're only willing to contribute to the same problem.
the lumberjack
I won't report it because thats how they feel. and New Reform...I didn't say I wasn't following it... I said IF I do...and that most of the time I don't...or at least don't try to. it did come to mind when I was posting the first time, believe me. and even when things are said out of spite, I TRY not to get angry and do it back. I just let them have their say....thats all. and dust, people have been uncharitable to bruce just as much as he has to them...and I don't see any catholic names missing...thats what I meant by bringing up the issue.
