Well, in that case.......

Dungeons and Dragons, the so called "fantasy role playing game" is no fantasy. Indeed it is a spiritual threat, and a quick means of conveyance to the portals that lead to Hell . By assuming a character which is of one's own make (only God can create, and only God can create Perfection; ie anything man "creates" is flawed, and in this case, will turn out , well, evil) one begins to see through and penetrate the supernatural veil that hangs between our world, the physical, and the other world, the supernatural. Since God alone invites people, theoretically, through the veil when they are privileged to have visions, what will one encounter when they have penetrated the veil themselves, at no Divine invitation? Furthermore, my question, as one gets involved in this game...with all of the "sacrifices" and "offering" that are made (to whom are these offerings and sacrifices offered, and for what end) and so on, one is pulled deeper into the game, and more often loses the ability to manipulate their own natural body, since they are operating the body of this character they have assumed, WHAT is operating your natural body for you? Lastly, I have heard ever so much about the "battles with fiends" that are fought. And if you lose? What is the prize? I said earlier that D&D is a conveyer to the portals of Hell, and are not these so called "enemies" actually demons, since these battles are fought in one's imagination? No physical being can enter your imaginationl, sice your imagination is a production of your mind. What, then, can enter your mind...well, ya'all do the math and get back to me. And what is the prize, indeed....

DISCLAIMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is not priestly/religious opinions. They are mine, do not quote me on them, or report me to dUST because you don't like my ideas. I am a teenaged girl who reads and debates, not a canon lawyer. You guys said I could post my thoughts, and I am not safely returning the gag to my mouth. hmrmm? hmrrn? hmm.

Lawl! You're one of those D&D is darksided people.

(How quaint. ;) )

To be for t3h s3rious for a second though, I think you have a logical fallacy there.

You said "only God can create, and only God can create Perfection; ie anything man "creates" is flawed, and in this case, will turn out , well, evil." Well I think that Man cannot create at all, but can manipulate what God has already created. I don't think we can use inherently good Creation to make something inherently evil.

Manipulate, that's the word. I was trying to figure out what to put there. Would that mean then that you cannot use your mind to poison your soul? Or is your mind your soul....think, think. That being said, can we use our minds to make ourselves evil? It would kind of be like spiritual suicide.

That's a good distinction. :)

I still don't think it's correct in this case though. I'm pretty live and let live when it comes to [s]nerd-fest[/s] Dungeons and Dragons. ;)

I'm just plunking down my 2 1/2 cents worth of vending machine wisdom. I don't really care about the D&D, no one listens to warnings, much less mine. I'm the babysitter, and I just take it in and think about, and then spew out my thoughts on the subject.....

JMJ
Weird thing happened in December. We were at a Warhammer 40K shop, and this man with a beard, sandals, and a deep, deep blue robe with all these weird designs on it was at the counter. He made my skin srawl (he smelled really odd by the way). So, since I was uncomfortable, I made the Sign of the Cross, and prayed the Sub Tuum. He turned around and gave me the nastiest look I have ever seen. Now understand, I did all of this silently, mentally. He stared at me for a few moments before leaving, and it was quite unnerving. He also had one of the ugliest mini beards I have ever seen
