Lil Red
+JMJ+
What Maximum Leader Obama said today to Bret Baier is beyond appalling, and beyond mere stupid ignorance about the Constitution — “I don’t spend a lot of time worrying about what the procedural rules are in the House or Senate,” Obama said. “What I can tell you is that the vote that’s taken in the House will be a vote for health care reform. And if people vote yes, whatever form that takes, that is going to be a vote for health care reform. And I don’t think we should pretend otherwise. . . . And if they don’t, if they vote against it, then they’re going to be voting against health care reform and they’re going to be voting in favor of the status quo. So Washington gets very concerned with these procedures in Congress, this is always an issue whether Republicans are in charge or Democrats are in charge.”

kamiller42
And when he was pushed in the interview to make a call on whether he was insisting on there being a vote (He loves to use the word.), he hemmed and hawed. He keeps throwing out the word "vote" like he really wants one, but he doesn't. What is most important to him is he gets what he wants. His Politburo is working overtime to get it. I love how he frames a vote against his bill as a vote for the status quo. No oh great and wonderful leader; it's a vote against your plan. Here are 70+ reforms you can begin working on after your bill hopefully gets flushed. http://rsc.tomprice.house.gov/UploadedFiles/RSC_Health_Care_Bills_Compilation--Late_February.pdf I do commend Obama on being persistent for what he wants. I wish Bush and his republican congress had such gumption a few times, like partially privatizing social security.
Tony
people against the bill are for status quo? I wish we were the status quo, but instead the culture of death is the status quo
Piccoli Fiori JMJ
Kinda reminds me of something Nancy Pelosi said recently about the abortion aspect of the health care bill. She pretty much said it really didn't matter if it was included or not, so I questioned why she is still pushing for it. I thought it didn't matter. Thy Geekdom Come
I'm telling you, I'm completely in favor of secession. What I want to know is why 2/3's of the states have voted to hold a national convention and fix this country. Did you know they can do that and OVERRIDE the federal legislative branch? They can rewrite the entire constitution that way if they wish. The people have this power, and I know the state legislatures of 2/3's of the country's states are against Obamacare.
Article V of the US Constitution The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.
Note also:
10th Amendment to the US Constitution The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
