brightsadness
I know that it's not quite VS material. But I want to share it first of all with VS people. So please forgive me. Happy Lent! http://www.ukrainianmuseumlibrary.org/icons.htm
Saint Therese
Please don't apologise for posting this. They are so beautiful. I always feel that I've missed something not having the tradition of venerating Icons. This one is absolutely stunning. laetitia crucis
Absolutely gorgeous icons. I especially like this one: Our Lady the Guide (I've never heard of her under that advocation before -- very nice!) Piccoli Fiori JMJ
A lot of these remind me of the icons and other holy images in a museum in Ukraine I visited. At first, I thought they came from there, but I'm not really sure if these are here in the states or back in Ukraine. The website doesn't seem to say. Anyone know for sure? [/quote] You visited the Ukraine?? I am so jealous. I would love to see some real icons up close and personal. The closest I have gotten is an Orthodox church in Houston full of icons that were made for the church.
HisChild
Of course, you know I'm totally besotted with icons. I now have 5, all above my prayer corner. These are lovely. They make me want more. LOL
