Disillusioned with politics? What are you saying, man!? Just look at what politics has done for people in the past 100 years alone! We're happier, more free, and justice is ubiquitous in and among the peoples of the world. Not like t was 120 years ago, when everyone was oppressed because of a lack of intervention in their daily lives. The Church? Pshaw. What has the Church done for anyone?

this may have already been posted, but I agree with the American Papist:

just wanted to point out that ACORN was actually recently cleared of any wrong doing, after the unedited version of the "damning" videotape came to light.

So its not "mal-intent" then?
I think there is also a problem with the perpetual use of the word "attack" it already sets up those who disagree with us as enemies in a war.

It's not a shooting war, but I think the "culture war" is very real. Liberals may not be at war with us in the sense of trying to turn America over to the Russians, but I believe the leftist ideology is indeed a real attack in everything I believe in - "traditional" religion, morality, economic freedom, and western civilization itself. I think leftist ideology is helping destroy this country from within.

I can't judge the intention of individual liberals; some may be malicious, others sincerely deluded. I don't hate liberals, but I do indeed hate the ideology of modern liberalism, and believe it destructive.

I dislike Progessivism being called as a bad thing for its own sake. Progressivism(ie, not preserving the status quo) has done a lot of nice things for america. |(|correct me if im wrong) such as giving women suffrage(the right to vote), ending slavery, repealing prohibition, etc.

He's probably referring to the present-day "Progressive" ideology.
Current "Progressivism" is not exactly the same as the Progressivism of 100 years ago. I believe historically, Progressivism has been a mixed bag, though I think much of the old Progressivism set things in a dangerous direction.

I can't in good conscience agree with virtually anything in the current "Progressive" agenda, and I honestly don't think anything good has come out of "Progressive" ideology within my lifetime.

I also think conservatism and progressivism can really be correctly defined as "preserving the status quo" vs. "not preserving the status quo." There are plenty of things in the status quo most conservatives would like to change. For instance, Roe v. Wade and abortion-on-demand is the current status quo, yet opposition to it is not usually considered a "progressive" cause.

It's also not a good argument to say that because "progressives" have done some positive things in the past, it means that the current "progressive" agenda is good, or should be supported.

That articles speaks only about the Brooklyn ACORN, not the Baltimore one, which was under federal investigation until the Obama administration ended the probe.

Sounds about right. It must be convenient to be above the law.

Guest Hiprocksoul

Social justice from the church is completely different from forced "justice" via the government. It's all about giving from the heart and not because Uncle Sam says so.. I'm sorry liberals, there's a difference in giving freely and forced giving through taxation.

Does anybody know where I can read exactly what Glenn Beck said? Like a transcript of his radio show or something?

Nobody?
