Earthquake In Salta

Hi Phamily:

I just heard that there was an earthquake in Salta, the city where the religious community that I entered is based. There were buildings affected (the cathedral, St. Francis Church). Two people thus far in cities about 20-30 miles away have passed away.

A large number of the brothers and sisters are based in Salta and are located in the surrounding cities ... the novitiate house for the brothers is about 10 miles from Salta, and where I think the novitiate for the sisters is, is about 15 miles.

Pray for the community, as well as for the Salte~nos in general.

Plus I had completely forgotten -- there are brothers based in Chile. I think they're not super close to the epicenter of that earthquake, but I don't know how affected they were by this.
